Your FAQs answered
How do online modules and zoom sessions work? 💻 📖
The course has been designed to fit around your lifestyle while still carving out time for you to meet your peers, workshop your writing in a collaborative setting, and be inspired by real-time lessons.
Online workshop dates are outlined in the course curriculum below.
I am not in the UK, can I still join the course?
Yes! Participants from across the globe are welcome. Zoom sessions will run to UK, GMT. If you are unable to attend live sessions, a recording will be made available for 24-hours after each session.
It's a bit expensive, will the price go down? 💸
The idea is that you will earn money back from the course once you start pitching your work as a freelance writer. That said, a promo code is available when you invite a friend to enrol — see below.
If I refer a friend, can I get a discount? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏽♂️
Loved to see this question. Learning is fun with friends, so yes! Refer a friend who also signs up to the course and each receive a 20% discount.
Drop me a note separately before you purchase the course to receive the promo code.
I don't want to sell my writing, but I want to improve my writing skills. Is this course for me?
Yes! The course is open to anyone who wants to improve their writing and find joy in being creative with ideas and words.
How many seats are there in this course?
20 seats in total. In my experience, a group this size allows for engaging and diverse discussions whilst still being an intimate safe space to learn.
What perks and bonuses are included in the course fee?
Expect discount codes for new stationery and shiny new books as part of your enrolment pack. There are no additional materials you need to purchase, but who doesn’t like a new notepad to get excited about learning?!
What does access to online content for 6 months mean?
Online modules will remain open and accessible to you after the 10-week course. That means you can refer back to the lessons when you need and remind yourself of key takeaways as you continue to write, edit, and pitch in the real world.
What will the reunion event entail?
The idea behind the reunion event is to keep you inspired and connected with your peers and lecturer after the course is complete. We are building a community here, not just a career :)
The course will have a networking focus to encourage you to keep writing and pursuing your writing goals after the course is finished. Plus, it is a chance to hear other peoples stories and be inspired by what they are doing and/or chat about collaborative projects.

What past students had to say
"...I now feel confident about the process and requirements of taking on freelance work. How to research publications, pitch work, and successfully condense ideas into a word count. The sessions where short enough to keep us engaged and not be to overbearing a workload next to your other jobs. I also emailed with additional questions and the response couldn’t have been more thought out and gracious..."
“I really enjoyed the course. Everyone is so nice and supportive. I have learnt to know more about pitching and ways to improve my writing. I am so happy that I joined the course and hear such interesting stories from other people.”
"If you are feeling stuck with writing or you don't know how to find inspiration to get yourself started - sign up to this course. Claire's relaxed and friendly approach really helps break down barriers to an otherwise intimidating concept. Loved it."
"I came into this course a little jaded by online workshops, post-pandemic, but was positively surprised by the many practical exercises...I had the feeling Claire enjoyed teaching the course and was genuinely interested and supportive of our writing while still providing valuable feedback..."
“As our favourite New York Times article on Languishing says, ‘One of the clearest paths to flow is a just-manageable difficulty: a challenge that stretches your skills and heightens your resolve.’ this course was just that. Using skills we already have but stretching them and adapting them in new ways.”
